Skin caring

When autumn is in the air, we all need to update our skincare routines. Somebody, like Cultbeauty may be talking of ‘transitional skincare’ to define the seasonal switch in a more effective and commercial way. Though still focusing on light weighting textures, we can enjoy a good detox mask, a creamy cleanser, so skin stays supple, a smart serum oil to give the right nourishment, without layers of silicons and bad chemicals, an exfoliating lotion to prevent the usual greyness and a moisturizer rich in vitamins and anti-oxidants.

My personal ‘transitional skincare’ includes:

Sukin Cream Cleanser – It entered my collection last August, but since then I haven’t been talking about this, strangely. As it is a wonderful cleanser, especially if you have dryness or anti-aging concerns or your skin deserves extra care. Don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t feel greasy, nor leaves leftovers once washed out. It’s amazing.

REN Claryfing Toner A light exfoliant lotion, more than a ‘true’ toner, than doesn’t contain acids in a too high concentration, so that you can enjoy it everyday, even if your complexion is sensitive and reactive.

REN Vita Mineral Omega 3 Optimum Skin Serum Oilis a very high value for money product! The packaging is very essential and cheap, but what’s inside has the same properties of a top quality serum. Why oil in this season? Because it can enhance the inner resilience of your skin and be the right preparation for winter. I’ve been enjoying my first bottle of it since this summer and I’m more and more convinced it’s a wonderful pick.

Ole Henriksen Vitamin Plus creme – A moisturizer anyone with combination skin may like very much for its super light texture. After a serum oil I wouldn’t over-hydrate in any case, as most of the work has been already done. Just a tiny bit of this will be enough even for the most demanding skins.

Elemental Herbology Facial Detox Puryfing Mask –Very ‘herbaceous’ in smell and formula, which to me means natural and lovely, but if you girls are more in love with no scented or luscious scented masks this will be probably a no-no.

And you, have you switched to any transitional skincare lately? Are there any products you would suggest?

The Ren serum sounded too good to be true! I added it to my Sephora wish list! Thanks for sharing your transitional favorites :o)

Hi Jacqueline, actually the serum is an oil and you’ll need to get a bit ‘used’ at it, in the sense that you’ll see the improvements after a while, but being so rich in Omega 3 fatty acids and vitamins A and E, it’s exactly what our skin needs. The packaging is very basic, but sometimes I prefer to pay for the content, rather than the container. 😉 I hope you’ll like it too. Have a nice weekend!!!

  3. I love skin cares products, I’d love to try any new brand. you’re post is interesting too:).
