Last drops of summer

Although I’m not the kind to sit out in the sun for hours, I must admit I really enjoy summer. So that I would never let it go. Luckily this year the very end of summer seems to be lovelier than the rest of the season. Madness! But I know it will end soon, as the air is getting fresher and fresher and even the daylight is changing very quickly. Summer brings to anybody a natural healthy glow on the skin, as well as it enriches our beauty bags with rich pops of color, fruity-scented body lotions, watery shades on the eyelids, warm touches on both nails and lips.

For all those summer-lovers, there’re still a few drops to live and enjoy. And thanks to a few beauty picks, the season can keep shining for a little while.

Glowing skin – The quickest way to bronze is of course by using a fake-tan product. But in the maze of bad smelling, orange-looking and difficult to apply products, it’s not that easy to make the right choice. Need any suggestions? Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning come to the rescue! Apply it twice a week on your face, neck and décolleté as the last step of your PM skincare routine. I usually pour it onto a cotton pad and tab it evenly. It smells amazing and when you wake up in the morning, you’ll look healthier and lovelier.

Oceanic waves – Which product can be more suitable to describe this topic than Make Up Forever Aqua eyes in the shade Royal Blue? It’s a waterproof eye pencil you’ll find in 24 different other shades, from the classic black to the pearl white, passing through any kind of green, blue, brown and even pink. To me this is the best waterproof eye pencil ever, as it’s soft, highly pigmented, easy to blend, yet long-lasting. It doesn’t smudge, it does not irritate my eyes and delivers high quality. Pair it with a Kiko eyeshadow, why not in the shade 113 Dark sea green to enhance the watery effect and you’ll feel like a siren.

Bold lips and nails – Red lips have been a really hot topic during the entire season, I know. And the most chic way to achieve them is through a matte lip stain product, such as Sephora Cream Lip Stain in the shade #01 Always red.  Not a red-lips kind of gal? No panic! You can try an almost nude looking lip balm, like Clarins Eclat Minute Embellisseur Levres and dare a colored flush on your nails and for a more playful manicure, a touch of orange will help you stay in touch with fall as well, without looking too dark / Gothic already. My personal suggestion is Kiko Nail Lacquer in the shade #280 Orange – almost a classic here.

Last, but not least, there’s always a good reason to wear a colorful accessory, such as a watch or a handbag.

Oh, thanks a lot for stopping by and leaving me a comment. I’m glad you like it. Sometimes it’s not that easy to style beauty pics with all those reflections, surfaces, transparency, details, and whatever…

  2. Ahh yes, so sad we gotta bust out the self tanner now…summer went by way too fast!

I also really love the watch in your picture!

  3. I love your picks and I too my dear am holding on to the sunshine a little bit longer 🙂
