Chic Guerlain météorites

Among the must-haves any beauty-addicted absolutely needs in her bag, there’s for sure at least one version of Guerlain Météorites.

With more than 25 years of history, this product is far more than a loose powder. It’s a unique, legendary highlighter, that the company has luckily never decided to discontinue, but on the contrary, they have renewed and re-proposed in several different editions, either loose or pressed, as well as in different shades and packages.

What I love of Guerlain Méteorites is first of all its iconic metal case, with a finely decorated cap, that reminds me of a jewel box, but on the same time of those vintage beauty goodies our grannies used to receive as a present, once in their whole lives. And which they kept, jealously and accurately, as magic spells to cast on very special occasions only.

Inside, the powder comes in a solid texture: the so called “meteorites” are beautiful, scented and colored pearls, ranging from white, to pink, yellow, green and violet.  Don’t be afraid, you won’t look as a Halloween’s mask at the end, because the texture of these meteorites is very very soft and intangible and it blends perfectly into the skin, without having to buffer a lot. As I said, it comes in different shades, according to your skin tone. Mine, of course, is the fairest color, which is #02 and is called Clair, but if you’re not that pale, you’ll find something else that suits to your complexion as well, since there are also a medium and a dore shade, with more pink, red and even brown pearls.

Guerlain is a French fragrance producer and this is the reason why its Météorites have an unmistakable, flowery scent, which is so lovely and delicate to wear.

But apart from being a fashionable item, you’ll ask at this point, what does this product do once applied on the skin? It adds brightness, while helping to remove flaws and dullness. It doesn’t clog the pores, so that you can try it even if your skin is acne-prone and sensitive, which is my case, for instance. I used it a lot and it didn’t cause me any break-outs and the good news is that it’s also paraben-free, which is not that common for highlighters.

Last but not least, if you need a very very special present for a friend, colleague, sister, or mom, it will be very appreciated. I paired it with its own brush, because I needed something compact and suitable to my handbag. It has a perfect size, while normally powder brushes are not that much comfortable if your bag is small and thin! It has beautiful design, soft bristles, but is pretty pricey. However, could you imagine a magic  powder without its magic wand?

I was drawn back to this product a couple of times the last time I was in Sephora. It is gorgeously packaged. Thanks for the article about it.
