Chic putting down the mask

Chic REN mask

Looking for a face mask which could help you reduce or prevent breakouts? Have you tried lots of different treatments, without any particular improvement of your situation and you now feel frustrated and/or angry with your skin? Then you’d better stop for a while and go on reading this post, because I have something to suggest, which I hope could work on you, as it is doing on me.

REN is a brand I discovered after many hours of beauty blogs research, looking for something new to add to my bathroom shelf. Their philosophy, summed up into the pay off:Β  “Performance. Purity. Pleasure” is to help people have a good care of their skin, because this allows them to look more beautiful now and to stay younger then. In other words, don’t wait until you have something to treat and correct, but prevent, using the right products now. Okay, I can do this!

REN uses only 100% plant and mineral derived actives and is free from skin-unfriendly synthetic ingredients. And I’ve already told you about my personal Crusades in this area!

Now, talking about masks, REN range is very wide, depending on your skin type and needs. I picked up a treatment for acne-prone complexion, because I wanted something to prevent breakouts, after a terrible year, fighting against my acne. What I discovered during my online research, is that the side-effect of purifying treatments, such as clay masks for instance, is the dullness of a complexion that becomes even more sensitized by the wrong attempts to treat it. It’s a vicious circle. You dry your complexion, believing that acne means oiliness, but then your complexion starts to produce more sebum, because you dry it and it goes crazy into this horrible vicious circle…

REN Clear mask

REN Clearcalm 3 Clarity Restoring mask doesn’t do all this. It’s conceived for blemish-prone skin, that doesn’t necessarily mean “oily”, because sometimes you may suffer breakouts, although you have dry patches or normal complexion, but you’re stressed, your period is approaching, you’ve been wearing a fluid foundation full of silicons and bad chemicals and so on….

REN Clearcalm 3 Clarity Restoring is much more fluid than expected: I don’t know why, but I thought it to be more creamy and thicker, while it’s very easy to smear on the face. The consistency is a bit sticky, as if there was some honey in it and in fact it smells of natural ingredients, such as thymus and salvia. It leaves your skin clean and smooth and reduces the appearance of pores. Up until now, I’ve done it just a few times, but I feel very satisfied.

To use this mask is a kid’s play. You apply it in a thick layer on clean skin and you rinse it off after 15 minutes with warm water. Then the skincare routine may end up with a spray of thermal water and a good moisturizer.
